A while ago we read an article about the first International Lonely Bouquet Day that was due to take place on Sunday 30th June. It was an idea that we were immediately taken with as the Lonely Bouquet is “a movement dedicated to spreading happiness and smiles, one flower at a time.” The idea is to make a bouquet, attach a “take me!” tag and leave it for a stranger to find to brighten their day.
Lonely Bouquets have been left in different towns, cities and villages worldwide. You can take a look at how far the event has spread, as well as seeing photos of the lucky recipients who have found bouquets, by visiting the official Lonely Bouquet Facebook page.
With help from some friends we have managed to spread Lonely Bouquets across all five of the inhabited islands of the Isles of Scilly. Unsurprisingly it did not take long for word to spread! Our local radio station helped to publicise the event and wrote a lovely article about the Lonely Bouquets on their website.
So far we have heard from the lucky people who have found our bouquets on Bryher and Tresco. It certainly looks as though the joy has been spread!
If you fancy brightening someone’s day our florist Steph has designed some gorgeous summer bouquets, you can take a look at our shop for more details.
